DIRECTORS NOTE
Special thank you to all the dancers for their contributions to the movement and choreography. Your artistry goes beyond execution—you have helped create the very language of this work. Through your individuality, vulnerability, and commitment, you have transformed steps into storytelling and movement into something deeply alive.
As you can see, many of our dancers wear many hats—whether assisting in rehearsals, cleaning choreography, or even sewing costumes. I truly could not do any of this without your unwavering support, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond. This production exists because of you.
This work is built not only on artistry, but on devotion. To my family—your unwavering support, quiet sacrifices, and constant presence are woven into every moment on stage. This company exists because of you.
This show is dedicated to Meredith Nickle. I hope you see some really nice things.

PROGRAM
Synopsis
Prologue
It is said that long before Snow White drew breath, the Vale of Alaric lay hidden beyond mortal maps, a kingdom cursed by its own beauty. Its ruler, Lord Alaric of Lys, had once been a mortal prince—beloved for his grace, feared for his pride. When the woman he adored died before their wedding, he swore never to yield to time or fate again. In his grief he made a covenant beneath the blood moon: life eternal, in exchange for his soul. The oath was sealed with a kiss from the Night itself, and from that hour he was neither living nor dead.
As ages passed, seven women came to him, each seeking immortality for a reason that bound them to sin:
Isolde, the Prideful, a queen who could not bear to fade and demanded worship for her beauty.
Mara, the Envious, who loved another’s husband and begged Alaric to make her his instead.
Selene, the Lustful, a courtesan who wished to be adored by kings forever.
Corvina, the Wrathful, a warrior who sought vengeance beyond death.
Petra, the Greedy, who offered her fortune for the promise of endless more.
Vera, the Gluttonous, who devoured life and delight until nothing sated her but blood.
Thessaly, the Slothful, a poet who begged Alaric to preserve her in perfect dreamless sleep.
Each woman he loved, each he turned—and each cursed him further. They became his Seven Brides, eternal mirrors of the sins he had awakened. Their love for him twisted into hunger; their beauty, into shadow. The Vale grew silent, caught between night and dawn.
Act 1
Scene 1: The Kingdom
Centuries later, in a mortal kingdom bright with frost, a child was born to a gentle king and queen: Snow White, whose skin was pale as snowfall and whose heart carried the same unearthly light that the Night had once stolen from the world. When her mother died, the grieving king was ensnared by a mysterious woman who arrived at court veiled in moonlight. She became his new queen—and within a year, he was dead.
The Queen ruled through fear and prophecy, her magic mirror whispering of a fate she could not escape. When Snow White came of age, the Queen commanded a grand masked ball to assert her dominance—but in secret, she ordered the Huntsman to kill the girl after the celebration, threatening his daughter’s life to ensure obedience.
Scene 2: The Ball
Among the masked nobles came a stranger dressed in black: Alaric, drawn by a pull he could not name. He danced with Snow White, and as their hands met, he felt the first heartbeat he’d heard in centuries. A drop of his blood brushed her skin—an ancient mark of connection.
Scene 3: The Forest
The Huntsman led Snow White into the woods, where duty warred with mercy. Before the blade could fall, Alaric emerged from the shadows, drawn by the bond he had unknowingly forged. He demanded the girl’s life—but the Huntsman refused. Steel met shadow, and their battle shook the trees.
In the chaos, Snow White saw the fate that awaited them both. With quiet resolve, she took the dagger into her own hands and plunged it into her heart—offering herself to spare the Huntsman from the Queen’s wrath.
As she fell, Alaric caught her. He felt her blood call to the darkness within him—the drop he had given her at the ball now answering its twin. With a breath, a whisper, a surrender of something ancient, he gave himself to her.
Her light… and his shadow… became one.
15 Minute Intermission
Act 2
Scene 1: The Crimson Vale
Snow White awakens in the Crimson Vale, carried beyond death into a world of shadow and stillness, where Alaric has brought her to join his eternal court as the Eighth Bride. And she does—rising as one of them, bound to the same darkness—yet she does not lose herself. Where the others have grown distant from what they once were, Snow White remains warm, kind, and unbroken. The Seven Brides gather around her not with jealousy, but with a quiet, aching recognition; in her, they see the echoes of their own lost humanity, and they mourn what she has become even as they are drawn to her light.
Alaric watches her move through the Vale, and something within him begins to change. What binds him to the others is ancient and unyielding—born of loneliness and time—but this is different. This is not hunger or possession, but love—real, chosen, and eternal. In her presence, the Vale itself begins to stir: black roses bloom with veins of crimson, and the stone halls, long untouched by feeling, awaken. The Brides whisper their stories to her, and Snow White listens, weeping for them. For the first time in ages, Alaric dares to hope.
Scene 2: The Queen's Sanctum
But the Queen’s mirror finds her again. It tells the Queen that Snow White still lives—reborn as something no curse can bind. In fury, the Queen conjures an apple of silver and blood, filled with venom that could fell even the eternal. Disguised as a penitent wanderer, she enters the Vale and offers the apple to Snow White, feigning remorse. Trusting the stranger's words, Snow White bites it—and falls into a deathless sleep.
Scene 3: The Vale
Alaric’s grief tears through the Vale. Desperate, he calls upon each Bride to share her blood, her sin, her memory, and pour them into Snow White’s heart. One by one, they obey. When the last—Thessaly—gives her dreamless peace, Snow White opens her eyes as dawn touches the Vale for the first time in a thousand years.
She is changed: not vampire, not mortal, but both—light and shadow intertwined. The sins that once cursed the Brides are redeemed through her. She rises as the Eighth Eternal, the first who can walk in sunlight and shadow alike.
Scene 4: The Castle
In the mortal kingdom, the Queen rises in fury, wielding dark magic born of envy and control—but when Snow White returns, she comes as the Eighth Eternal. Their powers collide in a fierce clash of shadow and light, the Queen striking with poison and rage as Snow White answers with a force beyond corruption. Where the Queen’s magic seeks to destroy, Snow White’s transforms, bending darkness to her will. In the final moment, Snow White overpowers her—not with mercy, but with undeniable strength—shattering the Queen’s magic and reducing it to ash.
The Seven Brides step into the sunlight, trembling as the dawn touches them. Freed at last, they rise into the sky, becoming constellations—each one a spark of sin transformed into grace. Then Alaric follows. He steps into the light and finds Snow White, seeing her fully for the first and last time. Though the curse is broken, the light will not spare him. He is forced to say goodbye as he dissolves into golden dust, smiling as he fades from her reach.
Snow White rules as a mortal queen with immortal grace. And in the crimson twilight of her halls, she sometimes hears a whisper carried on the wind:
“Eternal is the light that loves the dark.”
