"The Nutcracker and the Mouse Queen"

Serena Webb Dance Theater presents a original Nutcracker story choreographed by Artistic Director Serena Webb and company member Karyn Andrasko. Joined by the community, the cast includes children and adults in a new contemporary dance tale inspired by E.T.A Hoffman's original Nutcracker story. The costumes are steampunk, the music is scrambled, and the only dancer on pointe shoes is the mouse queen.
Serena Webb Dance Theater is seeking dancers ages 8-17 yrs for their production "The Nutcracker and the Mouse Queen." We are looking dancers of all ages 8 and up (or will be 8 by December 31st). 1-2 years of dance training suggested.
Young dancers roles include: Party Dancers, Mice, and Maids.
Auditions will be by video submission only and will be done via the form below. Please check your email for any callback information. Video
Auditions due Sep 28th! Dancers may be casted without a call back, and will be sent an acceptance letter instead. Please make sure you can participate in all the dates below before auditions. Potential rehearsal conflicts will be reviewed case by case, and we encourage you to reach out to us for any questions.
Expectations and Commitments:

NON-REFUNDABLE $50 COSTUME ADJUSTMENT/RENTAL FEE DUE FIRST DAY OF REHEARSALS
Dancers must commit to all rehearsals and performances, and will be required to sign a performance contract. Dancers can talk to directors about potential conflicts before rehearsals. Dancers chosen for the production will be sent information via the primary email address on the registration form on which includes the dancers’ schedule, as well as other pertinent information. When filling out the audition form please choose the best email address for your primary email, as this is the email we will use to communicate with you.
Rehearsals- October 14th-December 12th, 2024 (excluding holidays)
Performances: December 13-14, 2024 at The Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville.
Young Dancers: (Depends on role: All days/times do not apply):
Young Party Children (ages 8-10): Fridays 5:15-6:15 pm
Mice (ages 9-11): Saturdays 2-3 pm
Older Party Children (ages 10-13): Saturdays 3-4 pm
Maids (ages 14-17): Thursdays 7-8 pm (in Lehi @Jolie Arts Center)
*All Dancers will have rehearsals Saturdays as we get closer to the show
